Stay took a long, long time to finish. Not for any particular reason. I remember starting to write it, falling in love with how pretty the little bit that was there was and not wanting to add anything else in case of it crumbling, so it sat, unfinished for a good two years. We made a list of over twenty five songs for potential inclusion on our album, of which Stay was one, and we finished writing it during pre-production.
